JECDB Director Emily Darnell pulled together a crew of female leaders in Lewisburg and Marshall County to bring a dream to life in the Women in Business Luncheon held at the Lewisburg Recreation Center on May 13.
Along with Jennifer Pearson, Lee Bussart, Cary Whitesell, Terri Orr, Louisa Davis, Amanda Humphrey and Melissa Garrett, Darnell brought over 200 women of all ages and from all sectors of the Marshall County economic ecosystem together to hear from native Angie Grissom, owner and Chief Relationship Officer for Rainmaker Companies.
Grissom spoke on the theme of the Luncheon "Empowered Women Improve the Bottom Line." Telling her story from Lewisburg to New York and the World, Grissom gave a remarkable presentation that touched the hearts and minds of everyone in the room.
County Mayor Mike Keny served as emcee and presented three Awards to three deserving recipients: Lacy Hooten - Volunteer of the Year; Jessica Tietgens of Weathered Farmhouse - Business Women of the Year and Cecilia Spivey - Lifetime Achievement.
The event was so amazing that the first event will become an annual event sure to empower women of Marshall County for years to come.
