Great Turnout for Chamber Business Expo

Thursday, April 9, 2015 - Columbia State Community College - Lewisburg

The Marshall Co. Chamber of Commerce annual Business Expo enjoyed a great turnout of local businesses, agencies and people highlighting some of the small businesses and service agencies that help drive the local economy of Marshall County.

Executive Director Ritaanne Weaver with President Vicki Cain and an active Board of Directors have been increasing the Chamber's presence and activities over the past three years. With monthly lunch and learn sessions, weekly business coffees, a Shop Local campaign, including a local business Treasure Hunt, and events such as Mayfest on the Square along with all the daily activities in assisting small businesses, local residents and visitors to the community, the Chamber's success is showing. They have seen an increase in membership, higher turnouts to events and activities and the local sales tax rate has gone up by more than 3% each of the last two years.

The annual Business Expo is just one of the main events the Chamber's puts on each year and it too has grown with each year. The Chamber is already making plans for next year's event with more food vendors and more local businesses showcasing their products and services.
