Industry Roadside Clean-Up Day Holds 3rd Annual Event

Pictured are just a few of the crew that participated in the 3rd Annual Industry Roadside Clean-up Day in the Lewisburg Industrial Park. Led by Kevin Reinhart of Calsonic Kansei of North America, the Industry Roadside Clean-up Day began as a way to help rid the Lewisburg Industrial Park of roadside trash, help the environment and instill pride in the park and the industries that operate within. Southern Carton and Cosmolab joined the effort last year and participated again this year helping the crew to reach every roadway of the park. The effort of the first two years has paid off in the limited amount of trash collected during this year's roadside clean-up event.
Special thanks to Calsonic Kansei, Southern Carton, Cosmolab and the Marshall County Solid Waste Department led by Director Morgan Thomas for hosting the luncheon and assisting in the collection and disposal. The luncheon was held and the new Marshall County Recycling Center at 611 Hawkins Drive where Waste Management sponsored the luncheon from Lawler's BBQ of Lewisburg. Special participants included Marshall County Emergency Management Director Bob Hopkins, Lewisburg Mayor Barbara Woods and Joint Economic and Community Development Director Mike Wiles. The effort also served as part of the Keep America Beautiful campaign in Lewisburg and included a clean-up of the Rock Creek Park greenway along Big Rock Creek.
